Water

Water for wellness.    Water for life.

Water is one of our bodies most important basic needs. We know that we cannot live long without water (about 5 days), but few recognize the full range of consequences of not drinking enough water daily.

Just eight ounces less than your body needs can leave you tired and lethargic today.  Being tired leads to decreased quality of life because we do not have the energy to complete tasks or follow through with that fun get-together with a friend.

Dr. Don Colbert writes in the 7 Pillars of Health: “Dehydration robs from certain areas of the body to keep the brain, heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys well hydrated.  Many symptoms of disease are the first sign of the body needing adequate amounts of water.  Some of the symptoms of inadequate water intake may include headaches, back pain, joint aches, dry skin, allergies, heartburn, constipation, and memory loss.”

Bottom Line Brain Byte:  Drink 8 glasses of water each day for good health.
